Lighthearted Candle Company launches a Dolly Parton-inspired scent and will donate 20% of proceeds from all online sales this summer to Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library through local program partner, Crossroads United Way.
Noble County, IN— Lighthearted Candle Company, a locally owned small business known for its handcrafted candles and original artwork, is partnering with Crossroads United Way to create Cowgirl Boots — a limited-edition, Dolly Parton–inspired scent. Its release will kick off a summer-long fundraiser, through which 20% of all proceeds from the company’s online sales will be donated to Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library in our region.
The collaboration blends creativity, community, and cause by turning candle sales into direct support for early childhood literacy in the region. Cowgirl Boots — a scent that blends notes of leather, rose, and sunflower — is available as a candle, fragrance spray, and wax melt and will be available online and in person during United Way’s Power of the Purse event on May 7 in Rome City.
“We are so excited at the chance to support literacy for every child in our community through this collaboration with United Way and Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library,” said Lindsay MacDonald, owner and artist. “As a former English teacher now staying home with my two young girls, I can’t think of a cause more aligned with our values as a company. We may be small, but we have said from the beginning that we want to prioritize community involvement and giving back in every way that we can. When darkness seems to surround us, we can always choose to fight for joy and light.”
Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library provides free, high-quality books mailed monthly to children from birth to age five, helping foster a love of reading from the earliest years. The program currently serves over 5,000 children in Elkhart, LaGrange, Noble, and Steuben Counties, delivering books directly to their homes at no cost to families, thanks in part to funds raised by Crossroads United Way as a local program partner.

Their kindness is helping get more books into the hands of more children across our community; helping to spark imagination, joy, and opportunity for years to come.”
Cowgirl Boots — the limited-edition, Dolly-inspired scent — celebrates the spirit of joy, warmth, and generosity that has long defined Parton’s legacy. Available as a candle, fragrance spray, and wax melt, each product is labeled with original artwork, hand-painted by Lindsay herself. Inspired by Dolly’s love for flowers as well as her iconic boots, the scent blends notes of leather with rose and sunflower.

The company will donate 20% of proceeds from ALL online sales (including all scents and all products) to Crossroads United Way for the duration of the fundraiser, from May 7th to August 14th.
