CROSSROADS UNITED WAY AND STEUBEN COUNTY UNITED WAY COMBINE RESOURCES TO SERVE A FOUR-COUNTY REGION

Beginning July 1, Crossroads United Way will begin serving Steuben County as part of its regional footprint, which also includes Elkhart, LaGrange, and Noble Counties

[ELKHART and ANGOLA, Ind.] – Earlier this summer, Crossroads United Way and Steuben County United Way announced they were exploring steps to operate under a single banner. Following months of discussion, both Boards approved a plan to become one organization. Crossroads United Way will begin serving Steuben County on July 1. Three individuals who have served on the Steuben County Board and engaged in the unification discussions will join the regional Board for Crossroads United Way: Rachel Faulkner, Brent Rupert and Tim Newby. Bill Purcell, the current President & CEO of Crossroads United Way, will lead the now four-county area.

“When the Board at Steuben reached out to discuss the possibility of combining our efforts and serving an expanded region in northern Indiana, we wanted to be sure it would be beneficial to our entire footprint. After months of discussion, I am delighted to share that our two organizations have decided to move ahead as one, under the Crossroads United Way name,” said Bill Purcell, President and CEO of Crossroads United Way. “The effort has received strong support from long-time partners in Steuben County, and we’ll be announcing plans soon for a collaborative project in support of early childhood literacy, a priority all counties in our footprint share.”

“At Steuben County Community Foundation, we know lasting change happens when organizations work together toward shared goals,” said Jennifer Danic, President & CEO of SCCF. “We’re proud to support this collaboration, which brings new opportunities and resources to Steuben County while honoring the unique needs of our community.”

“Cameron Hospital and its employees have been long-time partners and supporters of United Way,” said Angie Logan, CEO of Cameron Memorial Community Hospital. “We’re delighted to see how we can partner with Crossroads United Way to further the positive impact our organization and employees have on the health, vitality, and quality of life in our county.”
